Privacy Policy

For RINGANA the sensitive treatment of all data that all users disclose when they visit the website https://www.ringana.com (hereinafter “the website”) is extremely important. The collection, processing and use of all data is exclusively on the basis of the current statutory terms, most notably those set out in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which is valid in the European Union, the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG), the Telecommunications Act 2021 (TKG) and the respective valid version of country-specific laws on the protection of personal data of private persons. The following sets out explanations of the data which is collected when you visit the website.

You may use the website without registering and without disclosing personal data. Only the details shared by the user’s internet provider will be collected, i.e. the user’s allocated IP address.

When you visit our website, what is known as a server logfile will be stored temporarily and anonymously on our web server. This contains details of:

  • the page from which you arrived at our website (the referrer URL)
  • the name and URL of the requested page
  • the date and time of your visit
  • the type, language and version of the web browser used
  • the IP address of the requested end device which is abbreviated in such a way that it cannot be associated with any one individual
  • the volume of data transferred
  • the operating system used
  • whether the page was successfully opened (access status/http status code)
  • the GMT time zone difference

Processing of this protocol data serves statistical purposes and to improve the quality of our website, particularly the stability and security of the connection (legal basis is Art. 6, 1 (a) or (f) GDPR).

Furthermore, only that personal data is collected which you have explicitly and voluntarily shared. You may input such data, for example, when registering on the website. Users are asked for personal information and have the option to input the data necessary for communication with RINGANA. This information is the name, gender, address and e-mail address of the user. In addition, every time you visit the website, your IP address, the time of your visit and your geodata are stored. This kind of information is exclusively used by RINGANA for its intended purpose and in compliance with the valid statutory regulations; further use of this data is only made with your explicit consent. You may object to the use of your data at any time. In this connection, please refer to “Rights of the data subject” below.

CONTACT FORM

When you use contact forms, the data you share is processed (e.g. gender, surname and first name, address, company, e-mail address, and the time the form was sent). Contact form data is processed in order to deal with customer queries (legal basis is Art. 6, 1 (b) or (f) GDPR).

HANDLING ORDERS

We process our customers’ data when they place orders at our online shop, in order to enable the selection and ordering of the selected products and services, as well as their payment and delivery.

The data processed here includes stock, communication, contractual and payment data. Processing is effected for the purpose of delivering contractual services within the scope of operations of an online shop, invoicing, delivery and customer service. Processing is on the basis of Art. 6, 1 (b) (contract performance) and (c) (compliance with a legal obligation) GDPR whereby those entries marked as mandatory are necessary for the establishment and performance of the contract. We only share the data with third parties within the scope of delivery and payment or with legal advisors and authorities in compliance with statutory requirements and obligations.

USE OF COOKIES

We use cookies to improve website performance. These text files are stored on your end device and enable us to analyse how our website is being used. This is undertaken in compliance with the EU and Austrian regulations (Art. 5 (3) of the EU ePrivacy Directive and Art. 165, para. 3 TGK 2021). Use of our website is also possible without (functional) cookies but its functionality may be restricted.

RINGANA informs you about the use and/or placement of cookies by means of a cookie banner. You consent to the placement of cookies if you accept the selected cookies in the cookie banner and continue on to the website. Essential cookies are always active because they are necessary for the function of the website.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, to help analyse website use by the users. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. RINGANA uses IP anonymisation so Google abbreviates your IP address within the member states of the European Union and in other states who are signatories to the European Economic Area Agreement. Google uses this information to analyse your use of the RINGANA website, to compile reports on website activity, and to provide other services relating to website activity and internet usage to RINGANA. The anonymised IP address sent by your browser within the scope of Google Analytics is not associated with other data held by Google so you cannot be personally identified.

You may prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser settings. However, we would point out that if you do so, you may not be able to avail of all functions of the website.

The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is RINGANA’s legitimate interest in accordance with Art. 6, 1 (f) GDPR. The analysis of website usage and the statistical evaluation is undertaken to improve website performance and make it more user-friendly.

This data is transmitted to Google for the specified purposes.

PAYMENT SERVICE PROVIDERS

We use external payment service providers (including LPMs – Local Payment Methods) via whose platforms our users can perform RINGANA payment transactions. These include the following providers: EPS, iDEAL, Giropay, Bancontact, Multibanco, MyBank, BLIK, PL24, etc. We also use various payment methods such as PayPal, Mastercard, VISA and ApplePay.

Within the scope of contract performance we use payment service providers on the basis of Art. 6, 1 (b) GDPR. Otherwise we use external payment service providers on the basis of our legitimate interest as per Art. 6, 1 (f) GDPR) to offer our users effective and secure payment options.

The data processed by payment service providers includes stock data such as your name and address, bank details in the shape of account numbers or credit card numbers, passwords, TANs and checksums, as well as contractual details and information relating to the sum in question and the recipient. The input data is however only processed and stored by the payment service provider. RINGANA does not receive any account or credit card-related information but only notification confirming whether a payment has been successful or not. Under certain circumstances the data may be shared by the payment service provider with credit agencies for the purpose of checking identity and solvency. Payment transactions are governed by the GT&Cs and privacy policies of the respective payment service provider which may be retrieved on their websites and/or transaction apps. We also draw your attention to this fact should you require further information or wish to assert your rights to objection, information or any other rights you may have as a data subject.

YOUTUBE

The RINGANA website contains YouTube videos. YouTube is a video portal operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. If you visit a page on our website that contains a YouTube video, your browser will automatically connect with servers operated by YouTube or by Google which is YouTube’s parent company. Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street Dublin 4, Ireland) is responsible for all data processing within Europe.

When you visit a RINGANA webpage that contains a YouTube video, YouTube will place at least one cookie that stores your IP address and our URL. If you are logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube can associate your interactions on our website with your profile, usually with the help of cookies. The data collected here includes session length, bounce rate, approximate location, technical information such as your browser type, screen resolution or your internet provider. Other data may include contact data, any reviews you have given, content shared on social media, or whether you have added an item to your favourites on YouTube.

The data that YouTube collects from you and processes is stored on Google servers, most of which are in the USA.
At https://www.google.com/about/datacenters/inside/locations/?hl=en you can see where the Google data centres are located. Your data is spread around various servers. This means that it can be retrieved faster and is better protected from manipulation.

Google stores the data it collects for varying lengths of time. You can delete some data at any time, other data will be automatically erased after a limited period, while other data will be stored by Google for an extended period. Some data (such as elements from “My Activity”, photos, documents or products) which are stored in your Google account remain stored until you erase it. Even if you are not signed in to your Google account, you can still erase some data associated with your device, browser or app.

NEWSLETTER

We are very keen to keep you up to date about selected current products on an ongoing basis. To this end at regular intervals we will send you information about new products, or invitations to our events.

The e-mail address that you provide to us within the scope of contract performance and the personal data you share with us when you register to receive the newsletter (e-mail address, salutation and name) are processed for the purposes of sending/sharing current information about products, special offers, publications, news about our corporate group, and press releases by e-mail and, provided that you have voluntarily shared your address and telephone number with us, by post and/or telephone, and for evaluating the e-mail recipient’s click behaviour to optimise our editorial offering by means of Web Analytics.

To subscribe to our newsletter, we use what is known as a double opt-in process. This means that after you have registered, we send an e-mail to your stated e-mail address and ask you to confirm that you wish to receive the newsletter. The purpose of this is to verify your subscription and so that we can clarify any possible misuse of your personal data.

The processing of your personal data by RINGANA is based either on the consent you have given us (Art. 6, 1 (a) GDPR) or on our legitimate interest (Art. 6, 1 (d) GDPR). Insofar as you do not give your consent to receiving our newsletter, you will only receive it if you have not objected. You can read more about objecting to receiving our newsletter below in a separate paragraph. The provision of services within the scope of our existing contractual relationship is irrespective of your consent and/or your objection to receiving the newsletter.

The legal basis for processing data for the purpose of analysing the click behaviour of e-mail recipients to optimise our editorial offering by means of Web Analytics is RINGANA’s legitimate interest as per Art. 6, 1 (f) GDPR. This analysis is carried out to further improve our newsletter, and to make our newsletter suitably attractive and informative to its recipients.

The data which is processed for the specified purposes is stored until you withdraw your consent and/or until you object to being sent the newsletter. Moreover, only that data is stored which is absolutely necessary under applicable statutory requirements and/or retention obligations as evidence of your consent and/or withdrawal.

You may withdraw your consent to receiving the newsletter at any time by sending an e-mail to office@ringana.com. You may furthermore unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by clicking on the “Unsubscribe from Newsletter” button shown at the bottom of every newsletter. Withdrawing your consent does not affect the legitimacy of any data processing carried out with your consent prior to that withdrawal.

So that we can show you relevant advertising, we send first-party cookies to Meta Platforms, Inc., 1601 Willow Rd, Menlo Park, CA 94025, USA.

Irrespective of whether you have a Facebook account or not, Meta collects data about you. This includes your IP address, technical information, e.g. browser type, operating system or very basic device information. Meta also stores information about the website through which you are using the service, and what web activities you undertake on our website. These web activities include, for instance, session length, bounce rate, or which buttons with integrated Meta function you click on our website. Meta can track and store these activities with the help of cookies and similar technologies.
